ASTRO – Aristotle Student Telescope for Radioastronomy Observations
BEAM, in collaboration with the Astrophysics, Astronomy & Mechanics sector of the AUTH Physics Department, undertakes the implementation of a new Project related to the development and design of a radio telescope! Utilizing national and international collaborations of our professors we have the support and guidance of astronomers and engineers with extensive experience in the construction of radio telescopes. The main purpose of the project is to strengthen the educational and research facilities of the AUTH, but also the flourishing of the field of astronomy and more specifically radio astronomy in Greece.

This event aims to inform the university community and the general public about the implementation and design of a Radio Telescope “ASTRO – Aristotle Student Telescope for Radioastronomy Observations” Project of the BEAM student group in collaboration with the Astronomy, Astrophysics and Engineering Department of the University of Physics In the context of this update we aim to approach new members to our team with an interest in the field of astronomy to contribute to our effort to reinforce the research and educational facilities of AUTH and contribute to the flourishing of the field of astronomy and more specifically radio astronomy in Greece.
FIRST TRAINING RADIOTELESCOPE
On the weekend of October 22-23, the first training of the Radio Telescope design and construction project took place at the AUTH Observatory. .

The purpose of the “Open Day” institution was to inform the members of the academic community of the School and the Foundation about the research, teaching and social activities carried out at the Faculty of Sciences, to exchange opinions and know-how and to get to know each other.
